Un sacré personnage visionnaire et manager de talent qui a su rassembler les bonnes personnes autour de lui.
Dans son autobiographie voici ce qu'il disait à propos du succès commercial de la Mustang:
"Dans certaines industries, perdre du temps est un avantage considérable. Mais pas à Detroit. Tout comme l’industrie automobile ne peut pas se permettre de prendre trop de retard par rapport au consommateur, elle ne peut pas non plus se permettre d’être trop en avance sur son temps. sortir avec un nouveau produit trop tôt est aussi mauvais que trop tard."
L'idée de départ parait simple;
in 1962, Lee Iacocca was pushing a new car idea he called a "sporty personnal car" to his boss, Henry FORD II.
The concept was to create an affordable car someone buy just for fun, not necessarily a family vehicle. It had to appeal to men and women and be a car that people would proudly park outside or wash on a Saturday morning. A looming number of young buyers were about to hit the market, and two-car housebold were going to be a factor...
